Grand Star
Grand Star, or La Compagnie des Glaces in French, is a science fiction TV show that has been on Space and A-Channel since September 2007. It is a Canadian, French, and Belgian co-production. The show takes place 100 years after a nuclear explosion on the Moon caused the Earth to freeze over. It focuses on the interactions between a small group of Earth survivors and the descendants of colonists who fled Earth in advance of the disaster. From a series of books called La Compagnie des glaces by Georges-Jean Arnaud, the series is based on. In 2007, a game based on the TV show's universe was made available to play with other people. It is a game where people fight each other and use their trains to get money for the control of energy sources. A French video game called Transarctica was also based on the book series and translated into English in a bad way, but it was still fun to play. The first book in the series, The Ice Company, was translated into English in 2010. It was written by Jean-Marc Lofficier and Randy Lofficier and had the ISBN number 978-1-935558-31-6, which means it was written in 2010.
