In Living Color
In Living Color is an American comedy television series which originally ran on the Fox Network from April 1-5, 1990, to May 19, 1994. Damon Wayans and brothers Keenen created, wrote and starred in the app. The show was recorded on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California at the Fox Television Center and had been made by Ivory Way Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The name of the series was motivated by the NBC statement of broadcasts being exhibited"in living color" during the 1950s and 1960s, prior to conventional color television. Additionally, it indicates the simple fact that most of the throw of the show are black, unlike other sketch comedy shows such as Saturday Night Live whose sketches are usually mostly white.
While brother Dwayne usually appeared as an extra Different members of the Wayans family -- Kim, Shawn and Marlon -- had routine roles. The show starred the unknown actor/comedians Jim Carrey and David Alan Grier. Celebrity Rosie Perez, choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba along with Dance with the Stars judge and singer Jennifer Lopez were members of the show's dance troupe The Fly Girls. The series won the Emmy in 1990 for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series.
