After the show begins, four members of the Hennessey clan are acquitted of the shooting of two young policemen in a bank heist that was bungled. The town of Melbourne is shocked since Steve and brothers Mal, together with friend Ken Hardy and brother in law Darren Mack, walk free.
If they could the prosecutors, judges, magistrates and police -- lots of modelled on legal statistics -- have been determined to put together the Hennessey members. But legal loopholes corruption, delays, and funds combine to make the quest much from straightforward the group to jail.
