Living Single
The Fox network in the United States of America broadcast the sitcom Living Single for a total of five seasons, beginning on August 22, 1993 and ending on January 1, 1998. The show focused on the lives of six close friends who shared both their personal and professional experiences while cohabitating in a brownstone in Brooklyn. Throughout its entire run on television, the comedy Living Single became one of the most successful African-American comedies of its time. In each of the show's five seasons, it was in the top five of the African-American ratings. Sister Lee, which is owned and operated by Yvette Lee Bowser, collaborated with Warner Bros. Television on the production of the sitcom. Many African American and Latino viewers, in contrast to the success of NBC's "Must See TV" on Thursday nights throughout the 1990s, flocked to Fox's Thursday night line-up of shows including Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover. In point of fact, these three shows finished the 1996–1997 television season with the greatest ratings among black households.
