Lost in Space is a science fiction television series filmed by 20th Century Fox Television and produced by Irwin Allen, created, also broadcast on CBS. The series ran together with 83 episodes involving between September 15, 1965, and March 6, 1968. The television season was filmed in both white and black, however, the remaining were filmed in color. Back in 1998, a movie, based on the television series, was released.
Though the first television series concept devoted to the Robinson family, a lot later narrative lines focused primarily on Dr. Zachary Smith, played by Jonathan Harris. Originally written as an competent although evil prospective saboteur, Smith gradually becomes the bothersome incompetent foil who provides the comic relief to the series and causes most of misadventures and the episodic conflict. Smith had not been in the unaired pilot and neither was the robot. A meteor storm at the unaired pilot put them off path. From the episode, Smith's endanger and unintentional existence caused them to go off path so that they struck the meteors. From the unaired edition they went at a slow rate that they wondered whether these were around Mars, while at the aired episode, just minutes of hyper-drive plus so these were lost light years from Earth.
