Mad is a American sitcom which aired on NBC in September 2-3, 1992 to May 24, 1999. The series stars Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser as a newly married couple in New York City. Reiser played Paul Buchman. Hunt played Jamie Stemple Buchman, a community relations specialist. Near the end of the show's run, the couple had. The show focuses on the newlyweds while they dealt with everything from funny daily minutiae to significant struggles. The willingness to find comedy in dialog and situations of the show acquired it contrasts to Seinfeld. Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser were paid $1 million per incident. Ratings dropped sharply as the show was shuffled to prop up a Monday night lineup of all comedies on NBC. The last episode of the show was"The Final Frontier". The show's theme song,"Final Frontier", was written by Reiser and Don Was. The theme was achieved by Andrew Gold, however a variant performed by Anita Baker made its debut midway. The variant of baker was useful for the rest of the show's run and appears on the show's soundtrack album.
