Maggie and the Ferocious Beast

The Canadian TV series Maggie and the Ferocious Beast is an animated adaptation of books written by Michael Paraskevas and his mother, Betty. Maggie, age5, draws a map of her made-up world, Nowhere Land, which leads the show's protagonists exactly nowhere. She treats them as if they were real buddies. Mice, cows, and rabbits are among the show's many animal pals. The show's theme music is an original composition titled "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast in Nowhere Land," but its composer remains a mystery. Nelvana presents a Jamie Whitney and Stuart Shankly-directed and produced feature titled Maggie and the Ferocious Beast. First airing in2000, the final episode aired in 2003. The distribution rights for the show were held by Nelvana. The original American music was replaced in the UK with a dubbed version starring British voice actors. The show's premiere aired on Teletoon on August26,2000, and it is a Teletoon Original Production. After airing on Nick Jr. from July15,2000, until October30,2010, no US network has aired Maggie and the Ferocious Beast since.
