Martin is the American sitcom created by HBO Independent Productions which aired to May 1, 1997 on Fox from August 27, 1992. The show is equally titled after and stars actor-comedian Martin Lawrence Tisha Campbell, Thomas Mikal Ford, Carl Anthony Payne II, along with Tichina Arnold. Amid the popularity of the Fox system across the 1990s, Martin was one of the highest-rated shows of those network throughout the five-season run of the sitcom. Compared to the popularity of NBC's"Must See TV" on Thursday nights at the 1990s, many African American and Latino audiences flocked to Fox's Thursday night line-up of both Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover. In reality, these were the three highest-rated series among households such as its 1996--1997 season.
