Max Headroom

Max Headroom is a British-produced American satirical science fiction television series for Lorimar-Telepictures that ran on ABC from March 1987 to May 1988. Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future, a Channel 4 British TV pilot produced by Chrysalis, served as the basis for the series. Because of the locale and the usage of an almost exclusively US cast, as well as its transmission on the ABC network in the United States, the series is frequently misidentified as an American-produced show. The UK pilot broadcast on Cinemax, followed by a six-week run of highlights from The Max Headroom Show, a music video show in which Headroom appears between music videos. ABC saw the pilot and requested Chrysalis/Lakeside to create the series for US audiences. The show premiered in late 1986 and lasted six episodes in its first season, followed by eight in season two.
