Merlin

Merlin is really a television miniseries which aired in 1998 that retells the legend of King Arthur from the perspective of the wizard Merlin. Sam Neill stars in the title role in a narrative that covers not just the rise and collapse of Camelot but also the phase from the history of Britain that precedes it. The movie deviates from conventional variants of the legend by keeping Merlin through the whole reign of King Arthur over Britain and from including new characters such as Queen Mab. The movie was accompanied by a movie in 2006, Merlin's Apprentice, which was loosely attached with Arthurian legend.
