Perfect Strangers
There were a total of eight seasons of the American sitcom Perfect Strangers that aired on the ABC television network between the dates of March 25, 1986 and August 6, 1993. The series was developed by Dale McRaven and tells the story of the tumultuous relationship that develops between an American from the midwest named Larry Appleton and his distant cousin Balki Bartokomous, who is from eastern Mediterranean Europe. After premiering in the spring of 1986 on Tuesdays for the very brief first season consisting of only six episodes, the show was moved to Wednesdays at prime time in the fall of the same year. It continued to take place every Wednesday until March 1988, when it was switched to taking place every Friday instead. Although it was broadcast on Saturdays for a brief period of time in 1992, the show found its true home as the centerpiece of the original TGIF schedule broadcast on ABC on Friday nights.
