Police Squad!

Police Squad! Is a tv comedy series first broadcast in 1982, produced by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker, also starring Leslie Nielsen. A spoof of police procedurals, the show comprised Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker's wordplay usual sight gags and nonsequiturs. While a parody of many tv shows and movies, it bore a resemblance to the late 1960s show Felony Squad, M-Squad and also the Lee Marvin cop series. Even though cancelled after just six episodes, the series spawned the Naked Gun film collection that was successful. Television Guide ranked it #7 on their 2013 set of 60 demonstrates were"Cancelled Too Soon".
