Queer as Folk
Queer as Folk follows three gay guys in Manchester's gay neighborhood surrounding Canal Street. Both Queer as Folk and Queer as Folk 2 were written by Russell T Davies. The first series was re-aired on More 4 as part of Channel 4's 25th birthday celebrations. Red Production Company created Channel 4's Queer as Folk. The title derives from a Northern English dialect idiom, "there's nowt so queer as folk," meaning "there's nothing as bizarre as people." This is a word play on the modern English equivalent of "queer," meaning homosexual. Davies originally titled the series this, but Channel 4 execs suggested Queer as Fuck during development and pre-production.
