Remington Steele
Remington Steele is a character on American television. With elements of romantic comedy, drama, and procedural mystery, the show succeeded in capturing the attention of viewers. Remington Steele is best known for launching the career of Pierce Brosnan and for being a precursor to the similar series Moonlighting. Remington Steele is based on the idea that Laura Holt, played by Stephanie Zimbalist, a licensed private detective, opened a detective agency under her own name but found that potential clients wouldn't hire a woman, no matter how qualified she was. Laura creates a phony male boss named Remington Steele to fix the problem. Pierce Brosnan's character, a former robber and con man whose real name is never disclosed, assumes the alias of Remington Steele in the first episode, "License to Steele." Laura is still in command in the background, as she always has been.
