Soldier Soldier
Soldier Soldier is a British television drama show. The title originates from the traditional song of the same name -"Soldier, soldier will you marry me, with your musket, fife and drum?" - which was used because its theme music, a worthy version.
Manufactured by Central Television and broadcast on the ITV system, it conducted for a total of 82 episodes and seven seasons from 1991 to 1997. It featured the lives of friends of soldiers in'B' Company also a fictional British Army infantry regiment loosely depending to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Set in the aftermath of the Cold War, it's regarded as an accurate depiction of army life at early to mid-1990s, once the British Army was undergoing substantial change. This is perhaps best demonstrated approximately 1994, if a substantial variety of regiments that were real were forced into amalgamations with one another thanks to downsizing of their army, during the show. At the Realm of Soldier Soldier, the King's Fusiliers are also forced to amalgamate with another regiment that was fictional, all the Cumbrian Regiment, getting the King's Own Fusiliers. At that time Soldier Soldier was broadcast, the fatality rate was low with casualties as a result of suicides and training injuries. The military all together was assigned to performing peace keeping assignments. The series served to portray the army in an fairly good lighting.
