Suspense
Suspense is an American television anthology show which ran on CBS Television in 1949 to 1954. This was adapted from the radio program of the same name which ran from 1942. Like many tv programs that were early, the series was aired live from nyc. This was sponsored by the business, and each episode premiered by sponsor Rex Marshall, who encouraged Auto-Lite spark headlights, car batteries, car batteries, auto batteries, plugs, along with other automobile parts.
Some of these scripts were adapted from Suspense radio broadcasts, while others were original for tv. Like the radio program , many broadcasts were adaptations of classics by writers that are renowned. Vintage writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Agatha Christie, and Charles Dickens all had stories accommodated for its series, whereas contemporary authors like Roald Dahl and Gore Vidal also contributed. Many actors emerged on the program, such as Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Franchot Tone, Robert Emhardt, Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges, and also a Lot More.
Most episodes were listed on kinescope, although the program proved to be a tv show that is live. Today however, just about 90 of the 260 episodes live.
