The Ben Stiller Show
From 1990 to 1991, The Ben Stiller Show ran on MTV, then from September 1992 to January 1993, it aired on Fox. The Ben Stiller Show had two seasons. Ben Stiller, Andy Dick, Janeane Garofalo, and Bob Odenkirk star on Fox's show. In addition, every episode included guest star John F. O'Donohue as a recurring character. Filmed comedic bits, often based on pop culture from the 1980s and early 1990s, were a big part of it. Fox canceled the show after just 12 episodes due to low viewership, despite the show's favorable reviews. The Ben Stiller Show, unlike most other sketch shows, did not rely on a studio audience or a laugh track. A laugh track wasn't used on this show, making it the only Fox sketch comedy show to do so. Andy Dick Show, a spin-off, followed the same format. After its demise, the show was honored with the 1993 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series for its outstanding scripts and storytelling.
