The Cowboys
The Cowboys was a tv show on the basis of the 1972 motion picture of the identical name. It aired on the American Broadcasting Company television system from February 6 to May 8, 1974. The tv series starred A Martinez, Diana Douglas, Moses Gunn, Jim Davis, Robert Carradine, and Clay O'Brien. David Dortort, best known for the High Chaparral and Bonanza, made the Collection. The tv series, like the picture, followed the exploits of seven kids that worked in 1870s New Mexico on a ranch. The Cowboys began being an hour-long series, but ABC decided to cut back running time.
The structure change did not lead to increased viewers, and also the series had been the casualty of early cancellation.
Guest celebrities included Cal Bellini as Wa-Cha-Ka in"The Indian Givers", Kevin Hagen as Josh Redding in"Death on a Quick Horse", and Lurene Tuttle as Grandma Jesse in"Many a Good Horse Died".
