The Dead Zone
The Dead Zone, aka Stephen King's Dead Zone was an science fiction/suspense series starring Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith, who discovers he's developed psychic abilities. The series, imputed as"centered on personalities" in Stephen King's 1979 publication of the identical name, first aired in 2002, also was produced by Lionsgate Television and CBS Paramount Network Television for its USA Network.
The series was commissioned for UPN, but the series was after dropped by the network and it was picked up instead by USA. The series was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for its first five seasons. The first and sixth season was charged as"the growing season that affects everything" and production was transferred to Montreal.
The deadzone was anticipated to be revived for a last season in December 2007 the series was canceled because of higher production cost and low ratings .
Some rumors spread that the show would be picked up by Syfy after it was canceled by USA, but it didn't happen. Rumors of a movie have all but faded as time passes.
