The Kids in the Hall
The Kids in the Hall is a Canadian comedy group Created in 1984, consisting of Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, comedians Dave Foley, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson. Their eponymous television series ran from 1988 to 1994 in the United States on 1989 to 1995 on HBO and CBS, also CBC in Canada. The theme tune for this particular series was the instrumental"Having an Average Weekend" by the Canadian group Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet.
The troupe made a movie. The troupe re-formed for humor festivals and tours in 2000. They introduced an eight-part Mini-series, Death Comes to Town in January, 2010.
The name of the band originated in Sid Caesar, that, when a joke did not move over, or played than expected, would attribute it to"the kids in the hall", referring to an organization of young authors hanging round the studio.
