The League of Gentlemen
The League of Gentlemen is a British comedy television series which premiered on BBC 2 in 1999. The series is set in Royston Vasey, a literary town in Northern England. It follows that the lives of lots of bizarre townspeople, nearly all of whom have been played with three of their show's four authors --Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmith--that, along with Jeremy Dyson, formed the League of Gentlemen humor troupe in 1995. The series aired for three series until 2002 followed closely by a film in 2005. A revival mini-series was broadcast in December 20 17 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the group.
