The State
The State is a tv series aired on MTV between December 17, 1993, and July 1, 1995. The series united bizarre characters and scenarios presenting screenplay that acquired the favor of its target teen aged audience. The cast consisted of 11 comedians who acted, created, wrote, directed and edited the series.
Several memorable personalities were designed for the series, also for a brief period their catchphrases entered in to the vernacular. The cast deal with the viewer to deliver mock public service announcements or to promote fake competitions and will appear like themselves. Like Monty Python, The State's sketches were linked somehow: a punchline or image that ended a leadin was provided by one sketch to the next to each other.
After years of legal issues linked to the sound track the series has been released on DVD on July 14, 2009. The 2007-2008 screenwriters strike is in the works, but delayed A State film featuring most of the first troupe members, and no discharge date for your project was announced.
