The Virginian

The Virginian is an football television series starring Doug McClure and James Drury, which aired from 1962 to 1971 for a total of 249 episodes. It was a spinoff from a 1958 summer series. The Virginian became television's earliest 90-minute western series. Immensely powerful, it ran for nine seasons--tv's third longest western. It follows Gunsmoke at episodes and twenty seasons, and also Bonanza at 430 episodes and fourteen days.
