The X Factor
The X Factor is a tv music contest to find new singing ability, contested by aspiring musicians drawn from public auditions. The show has since aired from August/September to December and started in September 2004. The Thames and Cowell's production company SYCOtv of FremantleMedia produces the show. It's broadcast on the ITV system in the Uk and TV3 in Ireland, using spin-off behind-the-scenes show The Xtra Factor screened on ITV2. It's the originator of the The xfactor franchise that is international. The X Factor has been first invented as a replacement for its tremendously powerful Pop Idol, which was placed on indefinite hiatus after its second show, chiefly because Cowell, that was a judge on Pop Idol, desired to establish a new show on which he possessed the tv rights. The perceived similarity between both shows later became the topic of a legal dispute. The"X Factor" of the title refers to the undefinable"some thing" that produces for celebrity quality.
The judging panel was first Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Dannii Minogue combined the panel and Cheryl Cole substituted Osbourne in series 5. After show 7, Cowell and Cole both made to judge that the American form of the show whilst Minogue left the show as a result of obligations on the Got Talent of Australia. Though Rowland announced she would not go back for series 9 and was substituted by Nicole Scherzinger, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and kelly Rowland then united Walsh to the judging panel for series 8. Osbourne later returned 2013, substituting Contostavlos. As 2007, Dermot O'Leary, who substituted host Kate Thornton has presented the show. The show is broken up into a series of phases, subsequent to contestants from auditions to the grand finale. Contestants sang facing of the judges within a living room. Onto a point in front of the judges and a live crowd, auditionees sing from show 6 onwards. Successful auditionees proceed to"boot camp" and to"judges' houses", at which judges narrow the actions within their category to three or four actions to mentor for the concert events, where the public vote for their preferred acts following weekly live performances by the contestants.
