Walker, Texas Ranger
Walker, Texas Ranger is an American action-crime television series developed by Leslie Greif and Paul Haggis, featuring Chuck Norris as a member of the Texas Ranger Division. The show debuted on CBS in the spring of1993, with three pilot episodes comprising the inaugural season. New episodes aired on CBS from September25, 1993 to May19,2001, while reruns continued until July28, 2001. It has since inspired the made-for-television film Trial By Fire, which has been televised in over 100 countries. The film concluded with a cliffhanger that, as of 2013, has not been addressed. There have been DVD releases of all seasons. Reruns of the show have shown in syndication on the USA Network and Action in Canada at various periods since 1997. Beginning on 13 September2010, the series is broadcast on WGN America. The show's moral principles were well-known. For example, the characters abstained from drug usage and participated in community service. The martial arts were widely shown as the principal tool of law enforcement and occasionally as a means for Walker and his colleagues to reach out to the community. The show has subsequently become one of the most successful action shows in the history of television and has achieved cult status for its campiness.
