Robinson Crusoe
Robinson Crusoe escapes Britain on a ship after murdering his comrade for Mary's affection. A strong Atlantic storm destroys his ship and abandons him alone on an unfamiliar island. Crusoe is left to fend for himself on the island until he encounters Friday, a tribesman he saves from being sacrificed. Initially, Crusoe is ecstatic to have finally made a friend, but he is forced to defend himself against a tribe that uses the island to sacrifice members of their tribe to their gods. Despite their cultural and religious differences, their relationship evolves over time from master-slave to a mutually-respected friendship.
