Stalag 17
It's a Dull Christmas 1944 for the American POWs at Stalag 17. For the men in Barracks 4, all sergeants, have to deal with a problem that is grave - there looks like a security leak. The Germans always appear to get forewarned about escapes and at the latest attempt the 2 men, Manfredi and Johnson, walked into a trap and were murdered. For a few in Barracks 4, notably the loudmouthed Duke, the leaker is obvious: J.J. Sefton, a wheelerdealer who really doesn't hesitate to trade with the guards who has acquired rights and goods which no additional captive seemingly possess. Sefton makes it quite clear that he does not have any intention of trying to escape which simplifies providing any advice to the Germans. It doesn't extend to spying on the Germans, although he plans to ride out the war at what little comfort he is able to arrange.
