Twelve Monkeys

In the year 2035, convict James Cole reluctantly volunteers to be shipped in time for you to discover the source of a lethal virus which destroyed nearly all of the population of the earth and forced the survivors into communities that are underground. However, if Cole is mistakenly sent to 1990 in the place of 1996, he's arrested and locked up in a hospital. There he meets psychologist Dr. Kathryn Railly, and patient Jeffrey Goines, the son of a famous virus expert, who might hold the secret to the mysterious fictitious band, the Army of the 12 Monkeys, thought to be in charge of unleashing the killer disease.
