Globe Trekker
Globe Trekker can be an experience tourism television show produced by Pilot Productions. The show started broadcasting in 1994 and had been inspired by the lonely-planet travelbooks. Globe Trekker is currently broadcast in over 40 countries across two continents.
Each episode comes with a host, also referred to as a traveller, that travels with a camera team to a country a locale that is rather exotic --and experiences the sounds, sights, and civilization that the location has to offer. Episodes that are special feature complete city, beach, dip, shopping, history, festival, and food manuals.
In order to give viewers a more real look at culture the series goes far beyond popular tourist destinations. Presenters usually participate in different areas of regional lifestyle, such as attending to a classic wedding or visiting with a mining community. They address the viewer directly, acting as guides, however, will be also filmed interacting with locals and discovering locations in sequences. Globe Trekker additionally sometimes includes brief interviews with backpackers who share tips about traveling in that country.
